We have the pleasure of designing for several restaurants, offices, businesses, and personal homes all around San Francisco.
Our offerings include:
Unique, seasonally focused designs that change every week— either in vessels or wrapped bouquets
Complimentary consultation + walkthrough to gain insight into the site specific needs with a custom proposal
Weekly deliveries, maintenance + refreshing of arrangements
Complimentary vessel rentals, if applicable.

Learn About The Shop
Ampersand was first established in an unused and adorable barn that was then hand painted teal in the Mission district of San Francisco back in 2014.
In 2020, I moved locations to Market Street in the Castro Duboce neighborhood into a modern, spacious space that doubled as an event space.
In 2026, I am excited for the third iteration of Ampersand in a new adorable space in the Castro Duboce neighborhood. The building was first built in 1900, and inside you’ll find the most charming flower shop filled with botanicals, thoughtfully curated gifts, and some damn good vibes.
The shop is a space for creativity, community, and everything floral. We do our best to source as many locally grown materials as possible, every design is custom made with care, with a curated selection of goods you will love.
Ampersand is a hub for seekers of beautiful spaces, thoughtfully curated things, all the blooms, and good vibes. We are happy to design bouquets on the spot, discuss the current offerings— folks are also encouraged to get their hands dirty and choose blooms per stem at an affordable price point.
We also carry a lovely assortment of indoor plants in various sizes as well as home goodies such as candles, incense, home goods, thoughtful gifts, and more. We source beautiful totems to cherish for your home and space for yourself or as gifts for loved ones.
We have our hands and shears prepped for everything imaginable: from wrapped bouquets, vase arrangements, deliveries in San Francisco, walk-ins, event design work, weekly deliveries for cafes, restaurants, homes and more.

About The Owner
Ampersand is founded by Emerson Boyle in 2012. Hailing from a rural mountain town in Southern California, Emerson has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, specializing in Irish Theater + Poetry, is a lifelong vegetarian, + spent most of his life prior to Ampersand dedicated to the arts with involvement in choir, dance, + poetry. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his husband, Brian, and their needy children (two kitties), traveling, sampling well martinis (with a twist), and traversing down long wikipedia rabbit holes.

We're excited to announce that we are hiring for a part-time position with Ampersand!
Must be eager to learn and enjoy creative challenges, go with the flow, and can wear many proverbial hats. We are looking for a creative, inspiring, genuine, humble, people-person to rely upon while exploring everything floral and retail.
As a small business, we are reliant upon every single team member and are looking for an overall sense of amazingness in our next member. A dedicated love for flowers and creativity is just as important as a strong sense of loyalty to support our small business succeeding and growing. A passion for providing excellent customer service + hospitality along with a friendly personality is also a key component.
The expectations for this role are equal parts florist as well as sales representative — a thorough understanding of all of Ampersand’s many offerings, goods, and services is required to ultimately build revenue.
The position entails all things flowershop-hustle including designing bouquets, helping walk-in clients, representing Ampersand in and out of the shop on installations/drop offs when applicable, delivering flowers, phone calls, emails, invoicing, & having a lot of flexibility -- all hands are on deck, and we need all team members to fully understand all aspects. This specific position is highly customer facing, retail focused, and delivery focused.
This position is not an event designer or wedding designer position; the position is primarily for the retail space (although some bleed over could be expected).
It should also be noted that this is a physically intensive job, heavy lifting, standing for most of the day, etc.
Ideally, you will be proficient in using computer systems and all things computer savvy. A valid driver's license is required, along with comfortability with driving all company vehiclse.
We are looking to fill a part-time position ~2 days a week (weekend availability is a must). We do ask for a year's minimum commitment of time, if not more!
Previous flower experience is highly preferred, especially retail flower shop experience, however not required. If you do have previous experience, please be prepared to showcase some sense of a portfolio as well as references.
